Marking 75 years of our National Health Service, this unprecedented collaboration between 19 hospital trusts across England and a creative team led by Kwame Kwei-Armah, engaged thousands NHS staff through the arts and creativity to explore, share and reflect on what being part of the NHS means to them, and the impact it has had on their lives.

Each unique story has been told through different forms of artwork created by and with staff in each trust using music, poetry, drawings, paintings, writing, dance.

The programme culminated in a showreel of events broadcast 'as live' that can be watched here, *  followed by a stage show at AVIVA studios in Manchester on 23rd November.  The show stitched together the multitude of individual stories to create a unique portrait of an organisation through its people, providing a window for all of us to powerfully explore, share and reflect upon the profound impact of the NHS on our public life.

The project was funded by Arts Council England, NHS Charities Together in partnership with NHS England. It has been made possible through the support and funding of the 19 participating NHS Trusts and our very own Sheffield Hospitals Charity.

* the performance by STH staff for the showreel starts at 8mins:10secs into the video.

The Arts in Health team relies on the goodwill of our dedicated team of volunteers. We also regularly work with professional artists and musicians on a variety of creative projects across the Trust.
